If you’re like me, then you’re probably consuming tons of interesting things online: reading books and blogs, listening to podcasts, hanging out with Twitter friends.

But let me tell you something. I have many awesome friends, and they all do very different things. Some write and publish books, some sell educational courses, some do productized consulting (like myself), some run their own SaaS business.

But one thing they share in common — they are all great at shipping things. They just sit down and do stuff and get it published — instead of planning, discussing, and getting ready.

Each day I open up my inbox and see great writing shipped by one of them. Isn’t that amazing?

You can always say that you don’t like somebody’s posts, but at least try and do the same before judging. Try writing an article per week. Try and ship your own product.

Doing things is hard! Writing, designing, programming, publishing — it’s all hard! Entire human population is doing its best at avoiding work. We relax, procrastinate, take breaks, eat, drink, smoke, run errands — all to avoid work, directly or indirectly.

And only those who put themselves together, win.

Try and recall some glorious moments of your life — most likely they happened after a great deal of hard work. Take that feeling with you and start doing things today! Put up a Trello board, develop an actionable plan, and execute.

Stop reading books and listening to podcasts, there’s no magic pill inside. Even if you make a mistake and take your own path, instead of the one prescribed by a respectable source — that alone will teach you so many things. After all, each way to success is unique, but they all are only possible through doing things on your own. By yourself. In the wild.

Your path to success is right in front of you. So why don’t you just put your right foot down, and start doing work today?
